Brenda answered the telephone on December 27, 1992 to find that her sister-in-law, age 38, and nephew, age 11, had just been killed in a car accident on the way home from a delightful few days at her home. This was the first time she had experienced a death in her family. That phone call changed Brenda's life forever. Distraught, she quickly had to plan how to tell her brother and her niece that the other half of their family were gone. Then it was time to get organized, take charge and turn this horrible tragedy into a beautiful tribute to their lives.

Since then, Brenda has had a great deal of experience in loss, burying her mother, father, uncles and aunts. In three years, she lost seven family members.

Brenda knows the pain that death brings, and that it is not just the funeral that needs planning. There is so much more involved at a time when planning, organizing and implementation is just not possible.

You need time to grieve. While you and your family are in a state of confusion and feeling numb, you may need someone you can trust, someone who is caring, responsible, experienced and focused on helping you make sound decisions as well as get tasks done at a very emotional time.

Brenda has been an Executrix (female executor), sold property privately, has cleared out homes and prepared nursing home rooms for their new tenants. She has a clean driving record, is bonded and insured. Brenda is fun, humorous and organized as well as dedicated and decisive. She has owned her own marketing company, developed positive life skill programs for children and youth and founded a wonderful organization for women called The Women's Growth Network where she provides a forum to gather women and work together with them on their personal growth.

Brenda is a member of The Ontario Palliative Care Association and the Ontario Community Support Association.
